I was reading about fundamental analysis and the importance of being able to read balance sheets and cash flows... is it much more significant being able to read them when we can just take a quick glance at a company's p/e ratio, peg, and so forth?

for me, i don't bother looking into cash flow, balance sheets, or income statements simply because they can lie. look at wcg just last year... i'm sure ill get bashed by some of the fundamentalists out there but i like to keep things simple by comparing ratios and estimating fair market values
