Good long term dividend play? Good place to store some cash for the time being?

I had not researched their competitors all that much before the post. I guess the only legitimate competitor would be AT&T. Anyone have thoughts on AT&T for the same reason as Verizon? Longer term good dividend play.

I like the post!

VZ and T are the top competitors of the market, the sad thing is in the industry, they're the biggest competitors. But the dividends are comparable, both paying almost the same.

If I were to choose, I would split my money between them both as it's a tough call.

They both look the same on the charts.

VZ is more overpriced than T but pays a better dividend.

T has a bigger market cap than VZ and far from being overpriced. In fact it's among the most underpriced in the major telecoms.
