PostSubject: Historical Data   Sun Oct 05, 2008 10:06 pm

1) What are some of the good historical data vendors out there? I am interested in getting a whole bunch of data from numerous markets (commodities, interest rate futures, stocks etc), but the only quote I got from one of them was for $9000 just for 4-6 markets going back 20 years or so!!!! I am not prepared to shell out this kind of cash. Is this a standard price or is there a place I could get cheaper data?

2) Would you say it is critical for the sake of backtesting to get data that is updated hoursly vs. some EOD (end of day) type of data?

Thanks in advance!
